How to Open NRI Account

How do I open a NRI Account?

  • Defining a FD

Residents of (Country List)

  • Complete editable PDF NRI account opening form.
  • Attach self attested copies of your Passport, NRI Proof & recent colour photograph.
  • Scan the form & documents from your registered e-mail ID to nri@idfcbank.com.
  • Once we receive the e-mail we will call you back for a verification.
  • Your account will then be opened with a debit restriction.
  • You will then need to do a transfer from your own existing NRE/ NRO account with another bank in India. Once the credit has been processed and we ratify that it is from your own account, your account will be made fully operational.
  • You can log-in to internet banking, and immediately start using your account.

Residents of other countries:

  • Complete editable PDF NRI account opening form
  • Attach self attested copies of your Passport, NRI Proof & recent colour photograph
  • Get your passport & NRI proof attested at the nearest Indian Embassy in your country of residence.
  • Attach a funding cheque in INR from your own NRE/ NRO account with another bank in India
  • Courier the form, document & cheque to IDFC Bank (address)
  • Once we receive the courier we will call you back for a verification
  • Your account will then be opened in debit freeze and cheque will be banked. Once the cheque clears, the debit freeze will be removed, and your account will be fully operational.
  • You can log-in to internet banking, and immediately start using your account
